Highland Society Bridge to Glenshee Road, Braemar

A new 1200m link path has been created from the Highland Society Bridge over the Clunie Water to the Glenshee Road and ultimately up to the Queen’s Drive.

The aspiration to complete a link path from the new bridge to the Glenshee Road was adopted in the Caringorms National Park Authority’s Core Path Plan. Assistance from Invercauld Estate and Braemar Community Limited was greatly appreciated in defining the line, whilst funding from Cairngorm LEADER has made the works possible.

Fyvie Fencing Ltd won the contract to construct the path. Principle Contractor Bob Fyvie worked in the challenging winter conditions to construct as much as possible taking advantage of the frosted ground to transport materials to the path line.

The path was formally opened in June 2010 by Sir Robert Smith MP.
