River Path, Street of Kincardine
The River Path, Street of Kincardine
The path from Street of Kincardine, near Boat of Garten, to the bank of the river Spey is used by residents to go for peaceful walks by the river. The informal path can be very wet at times though and the uneven ground is difficult for some users. COAT have worked with Boat of Garten & Vicinity Community Council and Kincardine Estate to design a path which will facilitate access to a wider range of users and be in keeping with the nature of the area.
Works to improve the path will invlove laying an aggregate path with attention paid to landscaping the path edges with turf and heather saved during construction work and by mixing grass seed with the path surface to help 'green' up the appearence of the path and naturalise it. The improvement work has been put out to tender with a view to undertaking works once the snow has gone.
The current informal path can be wet and the
uneven ground makes access difficult for some users.
