Tarland All-abilities Path

Alastrean Woods contains some beautiful woodland and fantastic views of Deeside. Existing trods however meant that it was not accessible to people of all-abilities.

COAT took forward the project to develop a circular all abilities trail, covering some 1.2km. Development was done with the current all-abilities standards very much in mind, and a great deal of care was taken over slope, alignment, top surface and provision of rest ‘perches’ and benches at strategic locations. The work was undertaken with support form Rural Aberdeenshire Local Action Group LEADER and SNH. The MacRobert Trust were incredibly helpful in the development and planning of the project.
